After self-releasing their debut full-length Virtual Reality in 2022, the band signed to UNFD in 2024, releasing Heatwave as their debut single for the label. The follow-up album, The Lost Years, arrived on August 8, 2025, with a release show at The Webster Underground in Hartford. Dreamwake also supported Thousand Below on a North American tour in 2025, expanding their reach across the continent.
