The Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a national youth golf program created in 2013 through a collaboration between the Masters Tournament, USGA, and the PGA of America. Open to boys and girls ages 7-15, it emphasizes three core skills—driving, chipping, and putting—across four age divisions (7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15). Local, sub-regional, and regional qualifiers feed into the prestigious National Finals held at Augusta National Golf Club on the Sunday before The Masters. The event is free to participate in, with tens of thousands of youths qualifying each year, and it draws national attention with live broadcasts on Golf Channel and coverage on the official Drive, Chip and Putt site. Notable alumni have moved on to success in the PGA and LPGA tours, including Akshay Bhatia, Michael Thorbjornsen, Lucy Li, and Gina Kim. In 2026, Augusta National introduced a shot clock to streamline play and keep the event moving smoothly.
