DuPage Community Jazz Ensemble Tickets

The DuPage Community Jazz Ensemble (DCJE) is a vibrant large-ensemble jazz program based at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Known for its expansive repertoire that spans more than a century of big-band and large jazz ensemble literature, the ensemble also commissions and performs original works by its members. Rehearsals take place Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:50 pm in MAC Room 138, continuing a tradition of rigorous study, dynamic performance, and community engagement. DCJE has become a staple of the Chicago-area jazz scene, regularly appearing at major events and festivals while serving as a proving ground for area musicians and aspiring professionals.

DCJE has a storied history of collaborations and guest appearances by world-class artists, reflecting a deep commitment to education, performance, and community outreach. Past guest artists include Melissa Aldana, Wycliffe Gordon, Ignacio Berroa, Carl Allen, Dee Alexander, Fareed Haque, Jens Lindemann, Victor Garcia, Mark Colby, Vincent Herring, Ernie Watts, Corky Siegel, and Brianna Thomas. The ensemble has performed at Elmhurst College Jazz Festival and Chicago’s Jazz Showcase, and was honored in 2004 by the U.S. House of Representatives for the Armed Forces Children’s Education Fund.

Upcoming 2025 highlights include Brianna Thomas joining the program on May 9, 2025, at the MAC, a Jazz Up Festival performance in Glen Ellyn on July 12, 2025 at 499 Main St, and Vincent Herring along with other guest appearances December 4–6, 2025.
