Dwight "Black Cat" Carrier is a high-energy zydeco and Creole-inflected performer hailing from Church Point, Louisiana. Known for driving rhythms that blend zydeco with blues, country, and R&B influences, Carrier has built a career on dynamic live shows and a deep Louisiana musical lineage. He’s performed with the Creole Zydeco Snap Band, graced stages at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in the early 1990s, and shared the road on a nationwide tour with 2013 Grammy-nominated accordionist Andre Thierry. Carrier’s debut full-length, It Ain’t My Fault (2009), captures his fearless cross-genre approach. As a performer with a loyal regional following, he continues to bring a carnival of sound to stages across the South and Gulf Coast.
