Ed Kuepper is a pivotal figure in Australian and international alternative rock, renowned for his cutting guitar work, prolific songwriting, and a career spanning several influential groups and as a fearless solo artist. Co-founder of The Saints in 1973, a band often cited as one of the first and most influential acts in the Australian punk and post-punk scenes, Kuepper helped shape a raw, dynamic approach to guitar-led storytelling. He later co-founded Laughing Clowns (1979–85), blending art rock with jazz-inflected textures, and returned under the banner of The Aints! at various periods, keeping his fearless spirit alive in live performance.
