Ed Volker is a cornerstone of New Orleans rock and R&B history. As a co-founder and primary songwriter/frontman of The Radiators, Volker helped shape the sound that defined the Crescent City’s late-20th-century live music scene. His work spans the iconic Epic-era releases Law of the Fish (1987) and Zig-Zaggin’ Through Ghostland (1989), which yielded charting singles such as Doctor, Doctor (#20) and Like Dreamers Do (#23). Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2011, Volker’s influence extends beyond the band, with OffBeat Best of The Beat Awards recognizing him in 1998, 2001, and 2002. In 2025, The Radiators reunited for a landmark Tipitina’s run and appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, reaffirming Volker’s enduring impact on Louisiana and American rock. It’s all part of a long, storied career that also includes solo work under the moniker Zeke Fishhead.
