The Edmonton Roadrunners were a brief but memorable chapter in Edmonton hockey history. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the team played the 2004–05 season in the AHL at Rexall Place (also known as Northlands Coliseum) and were affiliated with the Edmonton Oilers after the relocation from the Toronto Roadrunners. With an average attendance of about 8,854 fans per game, the Roadrunners offered local hockey fans a familiar North American pro hockey experience during a transitional period for the franchise.
