A sourced team detail
The Edmonton Roadrunners Hockey franchise holds a unique place in North American hockey history. As the AHL affiliate to the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, the Roadrunners played out of Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, during the 2004–05 season. The lockout that year reshaped the league landscape, and the Toronto Roadrunners were relocated to Edmonton to fill the void. Although the franchise as a hockey unit paused operations on June 6, 2005, its lineage continued through the Oklahoma City Barons (2010–2015) and the Bakersfield Condors (2015–present). This page honors that history and provides context for fans and researchers alike.
