El Paso Filmmakers Showcase Tickets

The El Paso Filmmakers Showcase is a distinctive performer-led program rooted in the U.S.-Mexico border community. Founded in 2016 by six women filmmakers from El Paso, Juárez, and Las Cruces, it emerged as a cornerstone of Femme Frontera’s ecosystem. The mission is to elevate women and gender-expansive voices in cinema, offering a supportive platform for short films, live programming, and year-round touring. The showcase is known for its collaborative spirit,跨-border storytelling, and a commitment to accessibility and education for audiences in the Borderlands and beyond.

As part of the broader Femme Frontera network—which includes La Frontera Film Lab, Minifest, and other programs—the El Paso Filmmakers Showcase celebrates diverse perspectives in cinema and nurtures emerging talent through screenings, Q&As, and community events. The festival’s 2025 edition took place June 7–8 at the El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center, with all events free and open to the public, reflecting the organizers’ dedication to inclusive access.

Beyond the annual festival, the showcase goes on tour across the country, screening additional films for wider audiences. In 2025, a Femme Frontera Showcase also screened at Plaza Theatre during the Plaza Classic Film Festival on July 26, 2025, expanding the reach of these Boundary-pushing stories. The program has earned coverage in Variety, Texas Monthly, and Remezcla, and was listed among top film festivals for female filmmakers in 2018. Submissions for FFfFS are managed via Film Freeway, with the 2025 edition featuring multiple short films and live programming.
