Elizabeth Ogonek is a contemporary composer and performer whose work blends orchestral color with intimate chamber textures. Born in 1989 in Anoka, Minnesota, and raised in New York City, she has become a prominent figure in modern classical music. Ogonek’s career spans composition, performance, and teaching, with notable roles including Mead Composer-in-Residence with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (2015–2018) and faculty positions at Oberlin Conservatory since 2015. In 2021, she joined Cornell University as Assistant Professor of Composition, continuing to influence a new generation of composers.
