Emancipation is a groundbreaking live trilogy created by composer-performer Adrian Dunn, performed with The Adrian Dunn Singers and the Rize Orchestra. Act I (live) released in 2022, Act II (live) in 2023, and Emancipation Deluxe (live) in 2024, expanding Dunn’s exploration of fate, resilience, and social narratives through a dynamic fusion of classical, hip hop, and choral traditions. Dunn made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2024 and produced a PBS Emancipation special that garnered multiple Grammy-related nominations, underscoring his growing influence in contemporary music. The project has earned prestigious recognition, including The American Prize in Composition for Requiem from The Mass for the Unarmed Child (2021) and a spot on the Chicago Tribune’s Top 10 Classical Music & Jazz Performances of 2021.
