Biography
Ember Oceans comprises Freddy Purcell (lead vocals/keys), Joe Cox (lead guitar), Sean Groebe (bass), and Parker Simonaitis (drums). The quartet began making waves with early releases Chromatic (2013) and Horizon (2014), laying the groundwork for their self-titled Ember Oceans album in 2015 featuring standout tracks Right Reasons, Waterfall, Slow Motion, and Karma. Their 2019 Sleepwalk EP includes the tracks Sleepwalk, First Place, Rare Candy, and Spearmint, followed by VHS-99 in 2020—a three‑track release on Ember Omega Records, including VHS-99, Magic 8-Ball, and Cheap Flights (Hawaii). The band maintains an active live calendar and a growing fanbase, with notable milestones such as a sold‑out Metro Chicago show in 2013 and an opening slot for Atlas Genius in 2018.
