Biography: Emerald City Music was founded in 2015 by violinist Kristin Lee with a mission to present intimate chamber music experiences in Seattle and beyond. The ensemble cultivates casual, venue-rich programs that invite audiences to engage with the music in a relaxed setting, transforming conventional concert-going into a connected, social event. ECM collaborates with distinguished partners and ensembles, expanding the reach of contemporary and classical repertoire alike.
Disography Highlights: Kristin Lee released American Sketches (2024) on First Hand Records, a curated concept album drawing from American repertory. Notable collaborations include projects with Sandbox Percussion—whose Seven Pillars (2021) earned two Grammy nominations (2022, 2024)—and the Don’t Look Down collaboration with Cerrone & Sandbox Percussion (2025) on Pentatone, which received three Grammy nominations. These works reflect ECM’s commitment to broadening the storytelling potential of chamber music through contemporary voices and cross-genre partnerships.
Upcoming Tour & 2025–26 Season: ECM’s 10th anniversary season (ECM at 10) runs Oct 2025–May 2026, featuring 12 mainstage concerts plus a new Late Night Sessions series. Sandbox Percussion joins as Ensemble-in-Residence. Highlights include ECCO x Vijay Iyer in May 2025 across Seattle and Olympia, and Loeffler Project in Oct 2025 in Seattle and Olympia. The 2025–26 schedule also includes performances with Aeolus Quartet, Mikaela Bennett with Metropolis, and curated programs like FIVE! and Canto Ostinato, performed in multiple formats and venues across the region.
