Emily: A Musical Portrait is an hour-long miniature-operatic chamber work that merges the vivid poetry of Emily Dickinson with evocative song cycles. This theatrical concert places poetry and performance at the center, inviting audiences to experience Dickinson’s world through intimate vocal storytelling. Created by Christopher Allen (Solti Conducting Award winner) and director Johnathan McCullough, the piece showcases a cast of Wolf Trap Opera alumni in a live, text-forward production that emphasizes clarity of language and musical color.
