Emmanuel Krivine, born May 7, 1947 in Grenoble, France, is a renowned conductor and violinist whose career spans multiple decades and continents. A product of the Paris Conservatoire and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels, Krivine began his musical journey as a violinist before expanding into conducting. He founded La Chambre Philharmonique in 2004, a period-instrument ensemble devoted to classical, Romantic, and contemporary repertoire. Throughout his career, Krivine has led major orchestras across Europe and North America and has released recordings with prestigious labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Warner Classics, Timpani, and Naïve.
