Enrique Perez-Mesa is a renowned Cuban conductor and performer whose work has shaped the sound of classical and contemporary Cuban music. Born on August 8, 1960, in Matanzas, Cuba, he studied orchestral conducting at the Instituto Superior de Arte, earning his degree in 1993 under the guidance of Guido López-Gavilán. Over more than two decades, Perez-Mesa directed the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba (OSN), guiding performances and tours across Europe and the Americas. He is known for collaborations with distinguished Cuban artists and for leading the OSN on notable international tours, including Spain (2019) and the United States (2012).
