Ensemble Intercontemporain (EIC) is a premier ensemble dedicated to contemporary music, renowned for commissioning new works and collaborating across artistic disciplines. Founded in 1976 by the visionary conductor and composer Pierre Boulez, EIC has grown into a 31-member ensemble whose innovative approach blends traditional concert practice with electronics and spatialized sound to create immersive performances. Since 1995, the ensemble has been a resident of the Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris, integrating fully into the institution in 2026 to broaden its creative reach.
