Together, Espanolería explores a Spanish song cycle that breathes with rhythm and poetry, from intimate art songs to broader recital moments.
Repertoire highlights include Rodrigo’s Three Spanish Songs, Lorca’s Canciones Espanolas Antiguas, and de Falla’s Seven Popular Spanish Songs. The program is carefully curated to reflect the connection between voice and guitar, offering both brisk character pieces and lyrical ballads that showcase Spanish poetry and folk-inflected melodies.
Upcoming engagements feature a series of performances in New England and beyond. In 2023–2024, Espanolería appeared at Holliston Town Hall (MA), Chase Young Gallery (MA), Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (NH), and other venues, with GroupMuse documenting these programs. The duo has leveraged grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and local cultural councils to sustain their collaborative work.
Looking ahead to 2025, Fanny Lora’s broader project Through My Eyes: Sounds of the Americas will pair with pianist Alexandra Lutkevich for a touring recital that includes a Boston Conservatory performance and a Norwood library event, expanding the Spanish repertoire into broader musical conversations.
