Espresso Nutcracker is a distinctive performance project led by Katricia Eaglin, director of the Dallas Black Dance Academy (DBDA) and the official school of Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT). This innovative company blends Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite with traditional Tchaikovsky Nutcracker music, inviting audiences to experience a fresh, culturally rich interpretation of a holiday classic. Recognized as the only Nutcracker of color in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Espresso Nutcracker brings a vibrant, inclusive voice to the stage and screen.
