Ethnic Heritage Ensemble (EHE) is a cornerstone of modern jazz, founded in 1973 by percussionist and visionary Kahil El’Zabar. As a leading project within the Association for the Advanced Collective of Jazz Musicians (AACM), EHE fuses African and African-American musical roots with contemporary jazz, creating a sound described as spiritual and Afro-futurist. Expect a driving blend of trap drums, Kalimba, woodwinds, brass, and intricate polyrhythms, rooted in the idea of an "ancient to the future" sonic continuum.
