Formed in 2004 amid Festival au désert near Timbuktu, Etran Finatawa unites Tuareg and Wodaabe (Wodaabe-Fulani) musicians to create a distinctive sound often described as desert blues. The group blends traditional Wodaabe vocal styles with Tuareg guitar and Western instruments, delivering performances that echo the vast landscapes of the Sahel. Since their inception, they’ve earned international attention for their innovative cross-cultural music and electrifying live shows.
