Euphone emerged from Chicago’s rich experimental scene in the mid-1990s as a duo led by Ryan Rapsys and Nick Macri, with evolving live guests. Rooted in connections to the great local collectives around Heroic Doses, Five Style, Joan of Arc, and Isotope 217, Euphone became known for a daring blend of dub, jazz, rock, electro, and fusion. Their work is often described as abstract, future jazz with a rhythm-forward focus. While the project has not announced 2025 tour dates, their foundational recordings remain influential in experimental circles and are worth exploring for fans of genre-spanning instrumental music.
