The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) is a premier European youth orchestra renowned for its dynamic programming, rigorous training, and collaborations with some of the world’s leading soloists. Founded in 1976 by Joy and Lionel Bryer as the European Community Youth Orchestra, the ensemble adopted the EUYO name after the Maastricht Treaty in 1994. Over the decades, EUYO has grown into a beacon of musical excellence, performing at major festivals and venues across Europe and beyond. Under the current Music Director Iván Fischer, with former Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko contributing to its legacy, EUYO continues a tradition of high-level performances and innovative residencies through its Grafenegg-based operations and MusicLabs training model.
