Ex Fabula is Milwaukee’s premier storytelling collective, built in 2009 by Adam Weise, Amy Schleicher, Leah Delaney, Matt Sabljak, and Megan McGee. The name (from Latin: from stories) reflects a mission to bring real, personal narratives to diverse audiences. The organization centers equity, Deaf storytelling, and access, offering competitive and noncompetitive StorySlams, narrative workshops, and robust community collaborations. The New Year Spectacular is Ex Fabula’s signature winter StorySlam, featuring longer, jury-selected stories that invite audiences to reflect, connect, and celebrate resilience.
