Exotype is an Orlando-founded project that fused metalcore with electronic textures, creating a distinctive sound characterized by heavily detuned guitars and cybernetic synths. Formed in 2012 by members formerly of Catalepsy, the band released materials that demonstrated a willingness to push beyond traditional metal boundaries. While current activity appears limited and social channels are archival, Exotype’s early work remains a notable part of Florida’s heavy music landscape.
