Fayetteville Roots Festival began in 2010 as a community-driven celebration of folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, and country. Founded by Bryan Hembree, Bernice Hembree, and Jerrmy Gawthrop, this multi-day urban festival grew from a small gathering into a vibrant, four- to five-day event that highlighted local cuisine and a diverse roster of national and regional artists. The festival has been anchored by prominent venues like the Fayetteville Town Center and Roots HQ on the downtown square, with additional performances across multiple local venues and chef-driven experiences that made it a true cultural milestone in Northwest Arkansas.
