The band emerged from a 2010s LA scene and underwent a lineup change in 2019, bringing guitarist/vocalist Cole Berliner into a refreshed FEELS lineup alongside Laena Myers-Ionita, Shannon Lay, Amy Allen, and Michael Perry Rudes. Since their self-titled debut in 2016, produced by Ty Segall, FEELS has explored vibrant soundscapes, culminating in the 2019 release Post Earth on Wichita Recordings and a 2021 EP Subversive Reaction (via Deemed Printable) with a limited silk-screened vinyl edition.
