Femi Kuti formed The Positive Force in 1986 after leaving Fela Kuti’s Egypt ’80, carving out a high-energy Afrobeat ensemble that keeps the tradition alive while pushing it forward. A six-time Grammy nominee and a Knight of France (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, 2022), Kuti’s live shows fuse powerful brass, intricate percussion, and choreographed dance rooted in the iconic New Afrika Shrine style. On stage and in the studio, he blends Afrobeat with jazz, funk, and Yoruba influences to create music that’s both politically conscious and irresistibly infectious.
