Fendika is a renowned Ethiopian performer collective based in Addis Ababa, led by founder and director Melaku Belay. Rooted in traditional azmari culture, Fendika blends Ethiopian folk melodies with Ethio-jazz influences and world music textures. The ensemble features dancers, vocalists, and traditional instruments such as the masenko, krar, and kebero, delivering an immersive experience that invites audience participation and showcases Eskista dance, a signature Ethiopian shoulder-dancing style. Since December 2024, Fendika has operated as Fendika@Hyatt in Addis Ababa following the demolition of the original Fendika Azmari Bet venue, continuing to host high-energy performances and cultural events throughout the city.
