Festival Ballet Albuquerque (FBA) is a premier regional ballet company operating under Dance Theatre Southwest. Founded in 2010 by Patricia Dickinson Wells, FBA has forged a reputation for expressive storytelling, artistic integrity, and collaborations with renowned choreographers and local orchestras. The company presents a dynamic repertoire that honors classical ballet while exploring innovative works, sacred journeys, and cultural collaborations that reflect New Mexico’s rich artistic landscape.

Based in Albuquerque, FBA brings performances to the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) and partners with local ensembles to deliver live orchestral support, enhancing the full ballet experience for audiences across the region.

Upcoming highlights include Romeo & Juliet at the Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts (May 3–4, 2025) in Albuquerque; Nutcracker in the Land of Enchantment (Dec 19–21, 2025) with a live orchestra at NHCC; and Dracula, A Love Story (February 14–15, 2026) at NHCC. FBA has earned commissions from notable choreographers such as Jock Soto and Vladimir Conde Reche, and holds permissions from the Balanchine Trust to perform Valse Fantasie. The company also collaborates with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and the New Mexico Philharmonic, and has explored Sacred Journeys with Taos Pueblo musician Robert Mirabal.
