Festival of Lights represents Matisyahu’s ongoing exploration of spiritually infused music that fuses reggae-inspired rhythms with hip-hop cadence and rock textures. Raised with Jewish and Hasidic influences, his work often reflects themes of faith, identity, and resilience, resonating with diverse audiences around the world. His 2005 release Live at Stubb’s achieved Gold status, marking a milestone in his early career and live performance reputation. In 2007, he received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album for Youth, solidifying his place in contemporary reggae and beyond.
In 2025, Matisyahu released Ancient Child, his eighth studio album, on October 3, delivering singles such as Son Come Up and Rockin Tempos. The same year, Festival of Lights announced a 15-date headlining East Coast run, continuing to push his cross-genre sound to living rooms and large venues alike.
Touring in 2025 includes standout stops like Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY (Dec 14–15, 2025) and the Miami Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, FL (Dec 20–21, 2025).
