About the artist: Aaron Kula founded the Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra (KCJO) in 1997. The ensemble fuses Jazz, Broadway, Klezmer, Yiddish theater, and Latin influences to produce a distinctive sound. KCJO’s discography highlights include JubanoJazz (2016, KCJO), Klezmerology (2012, KCJO/Aaron Kula), and Beyond the Tribes (2008/2009, KCJO), the latter selected by the Library of Congress for its Copyright Acquisitions Division. Kula has earned a Fulbright Specialist grant (2018) and a U.S. Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition (2018). In 2018, KCJO collaborated with Nestor Torres, showcasing the ensemble’s versatility and reach.
