Final Girls Berlin Film Festival is a distinctive platform in Berlin dedicated to horror works directed, written, or produced by women and non-binary creators. Since its founding around 2016–2017 by Elinor Lewy (Eli Lewy) and Sara Neidorf, with Lara Mandelbrot frequently cited as a co-founder, the festival has grown from a local showcase into a citywide, multi-day event that embraces diverse gender identities in genre cinema. The festival’s mission centers on elevating underrepresented voices, challenging tokenization, and offering comprehensive programs that include features, shorts, workshops, and talks. In 2024, the festival’s efforts were recognized with funding from Berlin’s Senate for Culture and Europe, underscoring its cultural impact. The 2025 edition marked the festival’s 10th anniversary with events March 5–9 at City Kino Wedding and an atmosphere that included the Nightcrawlers Party at Cocoon, reflecting its blend of cinema and community events.
