First Coast Opera (FCO) stands as Northeast Florida’s premier opera company and the region’s first producing company. Founded in January 2000 in Saint Augustine, FCO evolved from An Evening of Opera into a fully staged company with a mission to bring professional opera to the community. Under the direction of Curtis Tucker since 2014, FCO combines seasoned artistry with community access, offering engaging productions and outreach across the area.

Based in St. Augustine, FCO continues to grow through notable collaborations, educational initiatives, and a commitment to accessibility. The company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by cultural agencies and foundations, ensuring ongoing regional impact and high-caliber performances for residents and visitors alike.

Upcoming seasons bring beloved repertoire and bold new experiences. In the 2025-2026 season, FCO presents Carmen on December 31, 2025, and January 2 & 4, 2026, followed by The Mikado on March 20-21, 2026, at Lewis Auditorium, Flagler College, St. Augustine. Special events include the 25th Anniversary Gala in 2025 featuring guest artist Juan Antonio Simarro. In 2026, FCO was named a recipient of the Arts For All Grant to support Opera On Tour, expanding free performances throughout the county.
