Fiya Powa emerged from the wild energy of New Orleans' Jazz Fest late-night scene, first lighting up the stage in May 2013 with a rotating cast anchored by notable players like Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore, Roosevelt Collier, Tony Hall, Skerik, and Andrew Block. Described as a Cajun-fried soul-groove / funk-jazz superjam, Fiya Powa blends funk, jazz, soul, and regional New Orleans rhythms into a high-octane live experience. Over the years, the project has become synonymous with late-night magic at storied venues and festivals, delivering spontaneous, high-energy performances that keep fans talking long after the final note.
