Flash Cadillac is a Colorado-born band that helped shape the early 1970s garage-rock sound. Formed at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1969, the group moved to Los Angeles in 1971 to reach a national audience. They appeared as Herby and the Heartbeats in American Graffiti (1973) and as Johnny Fish & the Fins in a 1975 Happy Days episode. Their music also featured in Apocalypse Now (1979). With charting hits in the 1970s, they remain a lasting name in the psych-tinged, party-rock scene. The band was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2012 for their contributions to Colorado music. Their discography spans studio albums and live projects, with performances continuing into the 2020s.
