Floater’s formative years began with Sink (1994), followed by a string of influential records including Mexican Bus (1998) from Angels in the Flesh..., Exiled (2000) from Burning Sosobra, and the early classic The Sad Ballad of Danny Boy (1995). Their 2010 release Wake and the 2018 The Thief were notable for self-financing and self-management, underscoring their independent approach to music. In 2017, Floater was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, and local publications such as Willamette Week recognized them as Best Band in 2009 and 2010. The band remains active on stage with NW tours throughout the 2010s, 2020s, and into the present day.
