Florence: The Lady With The Lamp is a distinctive performer project rooted in a dramatic opera-style narrative. The work, originally conceived by composer Timothy Sullivan with a libretto by Anne McPherson, debuted at the Elora Festival in 1992. Since then, it has continued to captivate audiences through revival performances by VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert in Canada (1995 and a later revival in 2022), with archival documentation in Opera in Concert archives. The project expands into studio recordings with two albums, Act I and Act II, released in 2020 on 1955432 Records DK. These releases bring the storied character to life through contemporary classical soundscapes and intimate vocal storytelling.
