The Florestan Trio burst onto the classical scene in 1995, formed in London and quickly establishing itself as one of the era’s leading piano trios. Known for its thoughtful programming, refined ensemble precision, and a rich recording legacy, the ensemble earned critical acclaim with major awards and an enduring discography on Hyperion. Though the group disbanded after a final Wigmore Hall season in January 2012, the Florestan name continues to resonate in the chamber music world, with post‑disbandment releases and ongoing recognition of their contributions to the repertoire.
