The sound
The musical character
Fraktus is a legendary, tongue-in-cheek techno act created by Studio Braun and celebrated in the 2012 documentary Fraktus – Das letzte Kapitel der Musikgeschichte. The project rose from a fictional 1980s vibe to a real-world revival fuelled by the 2012 Millennium Edition compilation, which collects tracks from LSD=Esel, Tut Ench Amour, and Automate. Often described as Germany’s mockumentary counterpart to Spinal Tap, Fraktus blends myth and music, influencing the techno landscape and inspiring renewed interest in retro-futurist electronic sounds.
