Fred Simon stands as a cornerstone of the Chicago jazz scene. As a founder of Simon & Bard in Chicago, he has long collaborated with revered artists like Paul McCandless, Steve Rodby, and Larry Coryell. His extensive solo discography spans Windham Hill, Flying Fish, Naim, and Columbia, with his most recent release The Beach Boys Distilled (2018) earning a place on the Grammy ballot for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. An active educator, Fred serves on the Jazz Piano faculty at Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts, guiding the next generation of musicians while continuing to perform in clubs and intimate venues around Chicago.
