Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra Tickets

Founded in 1978 to provide quality orchestral opportunities for youth in and around Frederick County, Maryland, the Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra (FRYO) delivers rich musical experiences through four ensembles: Philharmonic, Symphononia, Symphonette, and FRYO Jazz. With a broad repertoire that spans classical masterworks, seasonal music, film and Broadway scores, and jazz, FRYO offers young musicians a platform to grow, perform, and connect with the community.

FRYO operates as a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League and relies on the support of the Frederick community and local arts councils. A highlight of the program is its annual concerto competition, which guides members to solo appearances with FRYO ensembles, including performances with FRYPO/Philharmonic. The organization maintains a strong track record of nurturing young talent and presenting engaging concerts that resonate with families and music lovers in the Maryland area.

Upcoming FRYO performances include the Holiday Concert on December 8, 2025 at Oakdale Middle School and the Winter Concert on March 8, 2026 at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. A Spring Concert is to be announced. Notable achievements include Emily Shi’s 2025 Frederick Regional Youth Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition win, earning a solo with the FRYPO orchestra.
