Founded in 1978, Fresno State Softball has built a legacy that includes the 1998 national championship and frequent WCWS appearances spanning the 1980s and 1990s. Under the leadership of head coach Stacy May-Johnson (in her 4th season in 2025), the Bulldogs continue to compete at a high level in the Mountain West Conference. The team’s home game palace is Margie Wright Diamond, a 3,288-capacity venue on the Fresno State campus that provides a classic college softball atmosphere.
