Frightwig is a cornerstone of San Francisco’s punk scene, formed in 1982 by Deanna Mitchell and Mia d’Bruzzi. Known for ferocious live performances and a clear feminist political stance, they helped shape the Riot Grrrl movement and inspired bands like Hole, L7, and Lunachicks.
