People behind the production
From My Hometown is an acclaimed ensemble that grew from an Off-Broadway production at the Gramercy Theatre in 2004, with roots tracing back to Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. The piece, created with a book by Summers, Stephens & Rawlings Jr. and music by Summers, Stephens & Will Barrow, tells the story of three men from Memphis, Philadelphia, and Detroit who meet at the legendary Apollo Theater. The show weaves 24 classic R&B and soul hits with original material, delivering a warmly nostalgic yet fresh sound. While the project is ensemble-based and has no standalone artist page, the group’s impact is felt across regional theatres and contemporary musical landscape. We’re here to help you secure your seats and experience their powerful harmonies in person.
