The Gainesville Girls Rock Camp Showcase is more than a performance series—it’s a community-powered initiative that began in the mid-2010s in Gainesville, Florida. Founded by Jennifer Vito, Chelsea Carnes, and Kentucky Costellow, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit brings together women-identified and gender-expansive volunteers to empower girls and LGBTQ+ youth through hands-on music creation, performance, and leadership. Rooted in the GRCA (Girls Rock Camp Alliance), the program culminates each camp week with a public showcase where campers share an original song at a downtown Gainesville venue. While the organization’s official site lists camper programs and applications specific to each year, the mission remains steadfast: to provide a welcoming, inclusive space where young artists can build confidence, learn collaboration, and express themselves through music.
