Gangrene: The Dink Documentary shines a light on Dink, the Kent, Ohio-based group formed in 1992 that fused industrial sounds with hip-hop, hard rock, and electronics. Fronted by Sean Carlin, Dink released a self-titled album on Capitol Records in 1994, which climbed the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, and the single “Green Mind” gained MTV exposure after charting on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks. The band continued with material like the Blame It on Tito EP in 1996 before their 1998 breakup, and their story was chronicled in 2014 by the documentary Gangrene: The Dink Documentary. In 2023, frontman Sean Carlin passed away, closing a pivotal chapter in the band’s history. Today, 2025 brings a documentary-forward focus with screenings such as The Kent Stage in Kent, OH, and other regional show listings.
