GMCLA’s legacy includes being the first gay chorus to tour Central Europe in the 1980s, a performance for a sitting U.S. president in 1997 (President Bill Clinton), and a later tribute to President Obama at a West Hollywood fundraiser in 2011. The chorus also runs Alive Music Project (AMP), an outreach initiative launched in 2007 that has reached tens of thousands of high school students, fostering music education and inclusion.
