George Garzone is a pivotal figure in contemporary jazz, renowned for his development of the Triadic Chromatic Approach (TCA) and his enduring influence as an educator at Berklee College of Music. A founding member of The Fringe since 1972, Garzone helped shape one of the Boston area’s most enduring jazz ensembles, with a discography that spans more than 20 recordings, including 12 leader albums and 8 with The Fringe. His work as an educator extends through the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), where he serves as an artist in residence, sharing his improvisational philosophy with students around the world.
