The Georgetown Hoyas women's basketball program has a storied history dating back to 1970. Joining the Big East Conference in 1983, the Hoyas have made multiple NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 1993 and 2011. Home games are primarily played at McDonough Gymnasium on Georgetown's campus, with select games hosted at larger venues when the schedule calls for bigger crowds. In March 2024, Darnell Haney was named head coach after serving as interim in the 2023-24 season, guiding GU to the Big East Championship game and a strong postseason run following the passing of Tasha Butts. The 2025-26 season features 29 regular-season games, a Big East schedule release, and ESPN+/Peacock streaming coverage for many conference contests. Georgetown Athletics also announced 16 home games at McDonough Arena as part of 2025-26 promotions. Stay connected with official GU social channels for the latest news and game updates.
